WOOFERS Policies and Procedures
Woofers is committed to providing a clean, safe, friendly facility where you and your dog will feel welcome. We offer a well supervised, cage-free play environment for our dogs, with plenty of group play, comfortable resting areas and clean, fresh water throughout the facility. Our goal is to maintain a play yard where dogs can be dogs under the watchful eye of our trained staff. The safety of the pack depends on respectful behaviors and for that reason we ask owners to limit the excitability level with your dog when arriving and departing the facility. We also ask that you do not attempt to engage with your pet when they are in the play yard or interior play areas as dogs can become highly anxious or excitable when owners are near and can exhibit behaviors not usually seen. Woofers is always available for tours during normal business hours for all owners.
Daycare requirements: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age or older. Dogs over the age of 6 months MUST be spayed/neutered to attend daycare. Dogs are required to have proof of vaccinations on file. Woofers requires up-to-date vaccines for Rabies, DHLPP, bi-annual intra-nasal Bordetella (Kennel Cough), as well as an annual negative fecal float. New customers must have a negative fecal float with-in the previous 90 days. All customers are responsible for bringing proof of vaccination upon renewals. Woofers does not require canine influenza vaccine, but recommends this for some puppies and senior dogs. Continuous monthly heartworm and flea preventative is also required. It is the owner’s responsibility to provide verification of current vaccination records.
Approval/Attendance/ Probation: All dogs must complete a temperament test and daycare trial ($175) to ensure compatibility with the pack. Dogs must stay a minimum of 3 hours their first day following initial assessment and are encouraged/welcome to stay for the remainder of the day. Trial price includes 4 additional days of daycare to be used within 30 days so that we can become more familiar with your pup. All approved daycare dogs are always considered “on Probation” since their behavior can change. If their social skills become unsuitable at any time, their daycare privileges can be suspended. Woofers requires that your dog attend daycare a minimum of twice a month. Dogs not attending daycare for a period of more than 15 days will need to be retested to be eligible for daycare. Testing is by appointment only with limited availability.
Hours of Operation: Woofers is open 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Regular daycare is closed Saturday and Sunday with daycare limited to just dogs boarding with us overnight on those days. Open daycare drop offs end at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, after 9:00 a.m. owners must call to check availability before bringing. Sleepover drop offs and pick ups are 9:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday 9:00 a.m.- 11 a.m., Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Daycare dogs not picked up by 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday will be charged a late fee of $15. Daycare dogs not picked up by 6:15 p.m. will be boarded overnight at the regular boarding rate ($50). Dogs needing to be dropped off prior to regular hours will be charged an early drop off fee ($15) or can purchase an early drop off pass ($30/month).
Collars and Leashes: All dogs must be on a leash when entering and exiting the facility. Snap leash with collar or slip lead is preferred. Please maintain control of your dog at all times in our lobby area. All cats must be contained in a carrier at all times unless being handled by groomer in salon area.
Wellness: It is assumed that all dogs left at the facility are in good health, have not exhibited signs of illness (i.e. vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, coughing, discharge from the eyes or nose, lethargy) in the last 48 hours and do not knowingly pose any health risk. Please let our staff know if your dog is taking any medications, receiving ongoing treatment for any condition or has any special health needs or concerns. Any dog exhibiting signs of illness will be isolated from the pack. Owners will need to arrange pick up for any dog deemed a risk to other dogs. Dogs found to have fleas or ticks will be bathed at the owner’s expense.
Risks: Owners understand that supervised off- leash socialization and interaction between our dogs is encouraged. Dogs are unpredictable in behavior and can sustain injuries through normal play. Cuts, scrapes, raw pads, puncture wounds, and broken nails can occur in a cage- free play environment. Owners accept all responsibility for injury and damages caused by their dog to any dogs, persons or property. In order to maintain a safe play environment excessive barking may be controlled with bark collars. Dogs exhibiting disruptive behaviors in the yard may be given a time out or corrected using e-collars with permission from the owner. Dogs that are able to escape over fences or containment walls will not be invited back.
Bookings and Refunds: All dogs staying for sleepovers will need a reservation in advance. Sleepover reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card. During holidays and peak seasons, Woofers may require a minimum number of nights. Cancellations must be made 7 days prior boarding start date. You will be charged for the entire stay if boarding reservation is not cancelled within 7 day notice. We understand that sometimes plans change and you may need to make adjustments to your pets stay. Woofers will try to accommodate early pick- ups and extended stays based on availability.
Boarding Policies: Please send your dog’s food in zip lock bags individually measured for each meal. For emergencies, it is best to include one additional day of food for each stay. Dogs in heat may not be permitted to stay for sleepovers dependent on the dog’s behavior. All medications should be in original containers, clearly marked with name of medication and dosage instructions.
